Rhine Cruise

Here are a few photos from our cruise down the Rhine river. Among the sights we passed by the famous "Lorelei". These are a set of dangerous rocks in a curvy part of the river where ships would often crash and sink. A legend arose of a local girl who, spurned by her lover, killed herself on these rocks. Supposedly her spirit sings and lures sailors to their deaths, like a German version of the Sirens of Greek myth.
