The Nationaltheater, containing the Munich Opera House, on the east side of Max-Joseph Platz (where we met our tour bus). An interesting looking building, what with the big golden ring right through the classical facade. But you'll also note in the very lower right corner some barricades along the street. I totally failed to notice the sign that had been pasted on the back of one of them until I was on top of it... (see the next picure)
