Here is another video still frame showing a better view of the vaulted ceiling and one of the rear windows inside the Marienkirche. I think that a large part of the reason this church moved me so much (perhaps more than any other I went inside on the trip) is that its interior is as overwhelming in its size as any grand cathedral (this was one of the largest churches in Christendom in the 14th century), but because of the way it was painted it gives a much more light and airy impression than the usually much darker cathedrals of this size, such as the Kölner Dom. All of the grandeur of scale, with none of the oppressiveness!
