This is the southern terraced hill in front of the main entrance to the palace. It was originally conceived by Ludwig as a rococo theater, and is crowned by a classical rotunda with a marble statue of Venus.

The pool in the foreground has at its center a gilded group of Flora and her nymphs, and from the center sprouts a huge fountain which reaches 80 feet.
