Walking back toward the outer courtyard of the palace of Friederich IV, I went down into the Heidelberg wine cellars, which are home to some of the biggest wine barrels in the world! I guess this was needed because it is said the castle's drink-happy inhabitants are said to have consumed 2000 liters of wine a day! But as big as this barrel is (130,000 liters), it is dwarfed by this one!
