Here I am next to the monument to the locals who gave their lives during the Franco-Prussian War, next to the church. When Uncle Reinhard first asked me to guess what war this was a monument from, I noticed the Imperial German army helmet with the spitz on top, and guessed World War One. But when I noticed the dates on the bottom of the monument, I quickly realized what this was.
