Uncle Reinhard explained that this stone tablet, with its inscription in Latin, used to be in the back of the church, now near the altar. I don't know what it says exactly, but it basically talks about how this church was first built. It says the knight occupying the castle overlooking the town wanted a church to be built so that it could be seen from the castle, and so this church was constructed.
