Dessloktoberfest
Dessloktoberfest is a hugely cool and crazy party run by friends of mine every year at the Anime Weekend Atlanta convention. It celebrates everyone's favorite blue-skinned space invaders, the Gamilons,
and their glorious Leader Desslok. Despite their color, the Gamilons are a vaguely Germanic race (many of the names of the Gamilon characters are
derived from German WW2 leaders, and Desslok's title in Japanese, "Soto" was a title invented to correspond to Hitler's title of
"Führer", which means Leader). Since the party is German-themed, I offered to get some photos at appropriate locations in Germany wearing the official Dessloktoberfest T-shirt. The only photos I had planned were in front of the Reichstag, but the ones on the Zeppelintribuene, and in the Munich Hofbräuhaus were too perfect with the general party theme of drinking and funny fascism to pass up!
And I should point out, that is not a Nazi salute I am doing in front of the Reichstag! No, it's the Desslok salute, which has the arm out from the body at a right angle, not out in front as with the Nazi salute! Don't go getting any funny ideas!
