The hotel where we stayed was right around the corner from the entrance to Berlin's Zoological Garden, which has this beautiful gate, the Elefantentor (Elephant Gate). Featuring elephant statues that weight 27 tons each, the gate admits visitors to Germany's oldest zoo, opened in 1844, and one of the largest in Europe.
