The Deutsche Staatsoper (German State Opera House), built from 1741-43 the Forum Friedericianum by Knobelsdorff during the reign of Frederick the Great. It burnt out in 1843 and was destroyed in 1945, but was restored as an almost exact copy of the original in 1955.
